When this company first started, I couldn’t even conceive of us being around for a whole YEAR. It wasn’t that I didn’t believe in what we were doing. I just couldn’t imagine how many people support us and love our products!
We wanted to celebrate this milestone in a BIG way by offering bigger candles. Why? Here’s a secret: these are super close to what we wanted to start out with. The initial mockups for our candles were WAY different to our OG line of candles. Even the labels have seen more than one iteration.
We’re so excited about these candles that instead revealing the details later, we’re going to discuss everything here and now.
Jars & Lids
Full disclosure: I wanted matte black jars. Not only were affordable ones hard to find, it was even harder during a pandemic. But don’t think just because we couldn’t find what we really wanted that we “settled” for these. There were a ton of factors that led us to these jars (like being able to buy the jars and lids in one place). These piano black glass containers look elegant and sophisticated in any space. The copper lid adds an extra touch of class and a pop of color to the container. Bonus: the jar kind of looks like the bottom part of a wine bottle if you take the lid off.
Names
We didn’t want to use the “something” in front of these candles, mostly because we couldn’t think of anything that would accurately describe them (naming candles is hard sometimes). So for these, we went with the two biggest notes of the scent. This helps keep things as simple as possible for you (but mostly for us because trying to keep track of all these names? Whew!).
Scents
We LOVE unconventional scents. It’s been the foundation of our offerings since we started. These three incredible new scents are sure to delight, but to be extra sure, we’re offering tealight samplers first. Let’s explore these scents, shall we?
aloe + jade features a bright, lively fragrance, succulent as the first tender buds of spring emerging from their winter sleep. Sweet agave and watery aloe enhance the fresh-cut green leaves and chrysanthemum petals, while base notes of patchouli ground it with a pleasing earthiness.
fig + jasmine opens with top notes of green florals and green leaves that give way to a heart of fig and jasmine. Base notes of light musk, wood, and moss balance out the floral accords, evoking feelings of Spring and Summer all year long.
honey + amber is a captivating blend of honey, spices, and tobacco leaves, with a smooth woody base. Featuring notes of bergamot and coriander, these candles are warm and comforting any time of year.
Size
When we were planning the anniversary collection, we knew we wanted to go big. These candles are filled with 10 ounces of wax, almost 2 ounces more than the candles we normally make. When it comes to candles, bigger is almost always better. With proper care, these candles should provide you with over 50 hours of burn time.
Ten is also a pretty special number for us. This October, we will be celebrating 10 wonderful years of marriage.
Availability
While these candles are poured and ready to go now, they won’t be available to purchase until September 1st. Hopefully by then, we’ll be able to return to our daily shipping schedule and not have to worry about the candles losing their integrity when shipping to states in hotter parts of the country.
